Neha Luhar-Trice is a Kansas City–based freelance artist whose work is driven by curiosity, recycling, and material exploration. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a subsequent move to the American Southeast sparked a lasting fascination with the natural world. Wandering unfamiliar landscapes with camera in hand, she began translating observation into visual storytelling.

Originally rooted in photography, Neha’s practice has evolved into bold paper collages and experimental mixed-media work. She is currently pushing her process further by incorporating single-use plastics, transforming overlooked materials into layered, tactile compositions that blur the line between image, object, and environment.

Neha’s work has been selected for juried exhibitions nationwide, including shows in San Francisco, CA, Astoria, OR, and multiple appearances in the prestigious Krappy Kamera Exhibition at New York City’s Soho Photo Gallery. 

She is currently working on several larger pieces incorporating various reclaimed papers and plastic food packaging.

I gained a great deal from a few folks who stopped by market to discuss my (then) stull in progress collage. Someone started it needs to be for sale! Another pointed out their love of what I once thought was a problem area. I heard a mother point out the poem to her two daughters. This was a lovely experience, I’m sure to participate next year, it’s tradition now! 💕

I do think we’re now entering the maximalism mental chaos section of this challenge which is amusing and also at times frustrating. This is why I chose a larger piece of paper so there’s room for the journey! I’ve hated making pics at night so I will wait for a moment of sunlight in between running around in the daily minutiae. What a Saturday at TEDx Jax! I’m for this opportunity to spread my love of collage with a quality experience for those who stopped by my activity area. ‼️ It was very exciting to be around such energy, intellect and open minds. UNF was the perfect location. I can hardly believe TEDx Jax has been going strong for ten years and I’ve only now just gotten involved. For those of you who are interested, we should all attend next year, the speakers, interactive experiences and displays were top notch! Now that we are at one million population in our city, this shouldn’t be hard to pack the theater! 🔴 A big shout out to @sidewaysphotography for the invitation (and prep work) to participate, @dill.mickle for volunteering, @cummermuseum for the sponsorship, @des_islets for paper donations, beefer_t for sign art, and @rolleipollei who pepped me up when I started doubting my abilities.
